The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s prestigious Institute for Organization Management has once again turned to Barks Communications President Ed Barks.

He will teach a course titled “Communicating Through the Media” at the Northeast Institute to be held at Villanova University in Philadelphia on August 1, 2012.

“The U.S. Chamber’s Institute for Organization Management stands as one of the preeminent educational opportunities for association and chamber of commerce executives,” Barks said. “I’m delighted to once again be part of the faculty.

“I look forward to sharing media relations best practices with Institute students and comparing notes with faculty colleagues on a wide range of today’s management issues,” he added.

The “Communicating Through the Media” course curriculum focuses on delivering a message with impact, message preparation, and targeting the right media outlets.

Institute for Organization Management is a professional development program originated by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 1921. The curriculum encompasses a wide range of issues that association and chamber of commerce professionals confront.

Ed Barks works with executives who want to ensure their media training efforts result in long-term business success, and with subject matter experts who want to enhance their career paths. The former radio broadcaster is the author of The Truth About Public Speaking: The Three Keys to Great Presentations. As President of Barks Communications since 1997, he has taught more than 3900 business leaders, association executives, government officials, athletes, entertainers, non-profit executives, and public relations staff how to succeed when they deal with the media, deliver presentations, and testify before government officials.
